Hall of Fame Golf Outing Boosts WCCC Scholarships

The Warren County Hall of Fame Golf Outing is returning for its second year after its inaugural event successfully raised thousands for Warren County Community College students.

The golf outing will be Monday, June 6, and tees off with a 1 p.m. shotgun start following registration and lunch. The outing is presented by the WCCC Foundation with funds raised going toward the Hall of Fame Scholarship program.

The Warren County Hall of Fame has inducted over 30 individuals into its ranks since its inception seven years ago and is a way to mark outstanding individuals. Offering scholarships and funds for student programming is its way of helping students move toward their own outstanding futures.

With more and more students looking for financial help so that they can continue their education, the golf outing has taken on a new importance in the community.

“It’s a Hall of Fame event with Hall of Fame importance,” says Samir Elbassiouny, Executive Director of the WCCC Foundation. “Our mission at the Foundation is to help students in any way we can, particularly when it comes to scholarships. This event goes a long way in helping us meet our goals.”

Held at the prestigious Hawk Pointe Golf Club in Washington, scoring will be a mix of Better Ball and Callaway, with awards and prizes for those who pass muster. Golfers will enjoy a few twists and turns along the way, as well, so they should be ready for anything!

“Our first Hall of Fame golf outing was a huge success,” said Elbassiouny. “A big part of that is because we don’t get carried away with winning. Seasoned and amateur golfers alike have a lot of fun out there. And they know it’s for a great cause.”

Many students rely on scholarships to complete their education for a variety of reasons, but some scholarships are difficult to obtain due to the extreme amount of competing students. Others have been scaled back due to financial restraints. But the Hall of Fame Scholarship is local and attainable.

Individual tickets for the day are $175 and includes the outing, lunch, and a dinner and awards ceremony.

Sponsorship packages are also available.

If golf isn’t your thing but you still want to participate, lunch and dinner only options are available for $65 and $95 respectively.

The Warren County Community College Foundation is a tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) organization. WCCC has been serving Warren County since 1981, providing an affordable, high quality education in a broad range of fields of interest.
