Warren Tech Auto Teacher Earns National Award

Ray Danner, an automotive teacher at Warren Tech, received recognition at the Automotive Service Excellence Education Alliance annual conference.

Warren County Technical School Automotive Instructor Ray Danner earned Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Outstanding Instructor honors at the ASE Industry Education Alliance annual conference in Concord, North Carolina, last month.

Danner, a fifth-year teacher at Warren Tech, has 39 years of service in the automotive field.

The ASE Alliance Instructor recognition showcases instructors who have set themselves apart on behalf of their students and career and technical education. ASE Alliance Instructors must be ASE certified Master technicians with at least 5 years teaching experience and must currently work at a National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) accredited program. They must support their students in work-based learning assignments and participate in instructor training.

“One of the most important parts of making sure that our students are college and career ready is ensuring that our Career and Technical Education programs are up date and aligned with industry standards,” said Warren County Technical School Assistant Principal John Mylecraine.  “Mr. Danner not only has an incredible amount of experience in the field, but he also works very diligently to stay current in the ever changing field of automotive technology.  We don’t want to prepare our students for the jobs of ten years ago, we want to prepare our students for the jobs of the future, and Mr. Danner takes that very seriously.”

In addition to his service at Warren Tech, Danner also serves as an adjunct automotive instructor for Warren County Community College. Danner joined the education field after 33 years of service at Flemington Car and Truck Country. The Outstanding Instructor Honors are the latest credentials Danner brings to the classroom. He is a Certified A.S.E. Advanced Level Specialist, an A.S.E. Master Technician for 35 years, a GM Master Technician, a Certified Emissions Repair Technician,  and a A/C Qualified Certified Technician.

The ASE Industry Education Alliance is a group of organizations under the ASE umbrella providing a career resource from entry-level to retirement for automotive industry personnel and serves as a model for other industries.
