The Warren Tech Knights Boys Basketball team continues to play hard as it strives to overcome a difficult start to its season.  Whether at practice, or in games, the players are giving it their all on the court.  As senior captain Travis Nunnally would be quick to say, the team “keeps fighting.”

This year’s team came into the season with a lot of commitment and determination.  Head coach Chris Banquecer, who has been with the Warren Tech basketball program for nine seasons, recognized this early on.

“This year we have a lot of tough-minded guys,” he noted.  “They came into this season with a mindset of we’re going to focus, be a team and try to put this together to be a good season.”

Michael Perigo, Travis Nunnally and Shawn Bochini all serve as senior captains for the Knights. With each of the captains playing their last season for the team, one individual who may be ready to step in and fill the leadership role when the others graduate is junior Terry Reilly.

Reilly came into the season with the type of mindset that Banquecer looks for in his players.  Recently recognized as one of Warren Tech’s Athletes of the Month, he has already brought a lot of leadership qualities to the team and helped build the team’s chemistry as the season has progressed.  When asked about his favorite part of the season Reilly said, “It (the team) has really become a big family, I love it.”
