Holocaust Speaker Series Begins March 16

A new author and speaker series with a focus on World War II and the Holocaust will begin Thursday, March 16, with Noah Lederman, author of A World Erased: A Grandson’s Search for His Family’s Holocaust Secrets.

The speaker series is hosted by the Warren County Community College World War II and Holocaust Research Center, at the college. The reading will begin at 5 p.m.

Lederman will read from his memoir, a moving story that transports readers from his grandmother’s house in Brooklyn to World War II-era Poland. Together, they explore the memories of Auschwitz and other concentration camps, the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, and the displaced person’s camps that his family had long buried. This reading event is being held to raise community awareness of this terrible period, and creating a focus on personal connection that is often left out of history. A question and answer session will be held after the reading.

Warren County Community College’s faculty, staff, students, and local residents are invited to attend. This reading is free and open to the public. The event is co-sponsored by the New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education.

The reading will be held on Warren County Community College’s main campus, 475 Rt. 57 West, in Washington, NJ. Ample parking is available on the college’s parking lots.
