Joan Westpy, chair of the Joan Knechel Memorial Walk, kicked off the team fundraiser by speaking about the upcoming event. Unlike other similar walks, all funds raised will stay local to provide high-quality cancer care close to home.

The varsity game followed with the Lady Tigers beating the Streaks 2-1.

A bake sale throughout the event was held, which raised $203. This money will go directly towards the Lady Tiger’s team goal of $1,000 for the Joan Knechel Memorial Walk.

The Lady Tigers have participated in the walk for the past four years raising over $6,400 for the cause.

The walk will take place on Sunday, Oct. 18 at River Park in Hackettstown.

To further support the Lady Tigers to achieve their goal of $1,000, please go to their team fundraising homepage.
