Wrestling season never ends in New Jersey.

The Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex team defeated Morris County 76-57 in their fifth annual meet at Roxbury High School on Saturday, May 20, while the rest of the world was watching the Preakness.

It was all for a good cause, raising $850 for local charities.

Belvidere’s Quinn Melofchik won two bouts at 106 pounds, by 3-1 scores over Matt DeStefanis of Randolph and Dom DiGena of Mendham.

Warren Hills joined the party at 126 pounds, where Matt Valli of the Blue Streaks was a 7-1 winner over Sean Savercool of Whippany Park.

Hackettstown’s Alex Carida (the Tigers’ baseball team misses him) pinned Connor Meytrott of Montville in 3:59 at 138 pounds.

At 195, Ryan Kokawski of Belvidere pinned Giuseppe Canino of Mendham in 3:27.

Congratulations to all our local wrestlers who represented Warren County so well.

Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has left the building.
