Bragging Rights On The Line For Senior Golfers Oct. 7

For the past 23 years, seniors (and not so seniors) from Warren County – and beyond – have made it their business to show what they can do on the golf course for Apple Mountain Golf Club’s Annual Men’s Senior Open.

For many, it’s a chance to have fun and “brag a little” as they vie for the title of “Best of the Senior Best.” Championships, as well as great prizes, will be on the line Wednesday Oct. 7 when the 24th Annual Men’s Senior Open tees off at Apple Mountain Golf and Country Club in Belvidere.

The 18-hole event, beginning at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start, features winners in three divisions: Senior (50-59), Mid Senior (60-69) and Super Senior (70-plus). Winners will be cited in low gross and low net.

“It’s a fun event, for sure, but for some guys, it’s a little more serious,” Les Kleffman, Golf Director at Apple Mountain, said with a smile. “It’s just a great time and we like to joke that we stretch the ‘senior’ definition to include AARP guidelines – 50 and over!”

The tournament entry fee of $59 per person includes green fee, cart, prizes, and post-event buffet dinner. Discounted rates are in effect for Apple Mountain bondholders and associates. Pre-registration is recommended.

In addition to the great golf, participants also get to enjoy the changing colors.  New Jersey Monthly Magazine has cited Apple Mountain as “Golden Golf – Fall’s Colorful Course”.

The weekend of Oct. 2-4 is Retro Weekend at Apple Mountain. Trivia, retro specials and more all weekend, plus DJ Mitch Hess on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m.

For further information about the tournament, or to register, or to learn more about Retro Weekend, please call 1-800-PLAYGOLF.

Participants need not be a resident of Warren County.
