Coalition Honors Community Partners

There was plenty of recognition to go around on Feb. 8 when the Warren County Coalition For Healthy and Safe Communities, a program of the Family Guidance Center of Warren County, held its 3rd Annual Recognition Luncheon at the Inn at Millrace Pond. Among the honorees were The Rossi Family, the Coalition’s annual TEEN Summit’s high school advisors, the Oxford Central School District and its students for winning the Partnership For Drug Free NJ’s statewide PSA video contest, Dan Hirshberg of CHP Communications,  the Mansfield Township Police Department, Detective Joseph Mathews, along with Deputy Tax Clerk, JoAnn Fascenelli, representative of the Mansfield Township Green Team Recycling Program, recognized for their implementation of a permanent Medicine Drop Box site in the township, Project Teach students, and Isshinryu Karate Academy of Washington for their efforts at the Blue Mountain Spartan Run fundraiser. The featured speaker was Warren County Prosecutor Richard Burke. Special guest was Angelo Valente, Executive Director of Partnership for Drug Free NJ. The Coalition for Healthy and Safe Communities, a program of the Family Guidance Center of Warren County, is dedicated to raising awareness about the effects of alcohol and drug abuse, particularly with youth.  The event was presented by Covanta and Mrs. Northern New Jersey, with support from St. Luke’s Warren Campus and Investors  Bank. Proceeds from the event went to support the work of the Coalition. Anyone interested in learning more about the Coalition’s goals and getting involved, call 908-223-1985 or visiting their website at www.preventionconnections.org
