Downtown Washington’s holiday Season Kicks In Dec. 9

Hometown Holiday is a can’t-miss celebration that will light up the downtown in more ways than one on Saturday, December 9th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
This event, presented by Investors Bank, First Energy Foundation, Pasta Grill by Enzo, and Rossi Chevrolet Buick GMC and the Washington Business Improvement District, will once again feature not one, but two tree lightings, first at the Town Hall and then in the Downtown Pocket Park by the Town Clock. Join the parade from one tree lighting to the next and await the arrival of Santa Claus around 6:15 p.m.
Also taking place that evening are meet-and-greet photo opportunities with Santa Claus at Hometown Fried Chicken, with Frosty the Snowman, Mr. Penguin, and Santa’s elves, and other seasonal characters including a host of “Dickens” special guests.. There will other activities throughout as well as DJ Mitch Hess playing your favorite holiday tunes. Chanukah will also be celebrated with the lighting of the Menorah.
Among the other special activities planned for that night:
Performances by the Little Brass Band of the Lehigh Valley
Holiday critter activity sponsored by Family Clean Communities program with Diana Dove at Hometown Fried Chicken
Ornament project with Joyce Lahmidi of Delarah Parties at Washington Kid Care.
The Washington BID, host of the festivities, also thanks these additional sponsors: Stews Auto Body, WRNJ Radio, Sunshine Tree Service, Smith Motors. Washington Borough, and the Washington Borough Volunteer Fire Department.
