Electric Gumbo and the Brian Dean Moore Band will each bring their own brand of music to the 1st Annual Rock It For the Barnyard Sanctuary fundraiser event at the Inn at Millrace Pond in Hope on Sunday July 23.
This unique fundraiser benefits rescued farm animals that live at the Barnyard Sanctuary.
Sponsored by National Freight Audit and Payment Services Inc. and WXPN Radio, the event features two of the area’s top acts.
Electric Gumbo, scheduled to play from 1:30-3:30, features lead singer Caren Kennedy. A favorite at many regional festivals, Electric Gumbo (with some members formerly of Cairo) plays a a wide variety of cover favorites that gets you up on the dance floor. Not to be outdone, the Brian Dean Moore Band, another festival favorite, will keep you shaking from 4-6 with a mix of covers, country and otherwise, and originals. In between the two bands, the music continues with Paul DiGiorgio.
In addition to the music, there will be vendors offering an array of products including crafts, and food, wine, beer and soda available from 1 to 6 p.m. under the Big Tent.
All proceeds from the day will be presented directly to an important cause, The Barnyard Sanctuary located in Columbia. The Barnyard Sanctuary currently houses over 700 rescued farm animals such as cows, sheep, pigs, ducks, chickens, donkeys, horses, and goats, among others, that have lost their homes, that have been abandoned, or that have been saved from cruelty and/or slaughter situations.
