Elizabeth Gilbert Brings Big Magic To WCCC

Warren County Community College hosted nationally renowned author Elizabeth Gilbert on its campus April 19 as part of the College’s  Common Experience. Gillbert wrote the international best seller (and later made into a movie) Eat Pray Love and also Big Magic; the latter was used campus-wide as part of the Common Experience. In Big Magic, Gilbert offered insights into the mysterious nature of inspiration, encouraging others to embrace curiosity while forsaking needless suffering. The book serves as both a meditation and an empathetic treatise on the attitudes, approaches, and habits we need in order to live our most creative lives. Gilbert will read selections from Big Magic in an evening reading, but earlier in the day took part in an “interview” that also included questions from the audience. In this photo, Andie Brown of Broadway, WCCC student, and Jack Pierone of Belvidere, get a few minutes with Gilbert and WCCC Professor BJ Ward,
