Hackettstown Public Library Joins MAIN

In an effort to better serve its patrons, the Hackettstown Free Public Library recently launched its membership with MAIN.

MAIN stands for Morris Automated Information Network. This is a group of 38 Morris County, Somerset County, and now Warren County libraries that share library materials and allow library users to go to any of the member libraries with their library card to check out materials. This membership increases the circulation of materials through reciprocal borrowing, which means that the wait time for held materials is far lower than previous hold times.

The Hackettstown Library alone has access to 40,000 materials, but through MAIN, patrons have access to 2.8 million resources and materials. This also includes the selection of E-books, E-Audio, and E-Magazines that are available.

While patrons are already greatly benefiting from the Hackettstown Free Public Library, this membership increases its benefits at no cost to patrons or townspeople because the library is completely funding this venture. This also means that technical support will be provided by MAIN staff at no cost to Hackettstown Library patrons.

The Hackettstown Public Library is located at 110 Church Street and is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m.to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to noon. For further information, please contact the library at (908) 852-4936 or visit www.hackettstownlibrary.org.
