Meet The Artist Reception Scheduled For Dec. 13

June Ponte's work includes creative twists on paintings of historical figures, like this one of Abraham Lincoln.

5 East Art Gallery and Kathy’s Kove & Kafe’ in Washington invites the public for a fun-filled evening of hobnobbing with artist June Ponte on Dec. 13.

The Open House and Artist Reception, running from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13, will feature Ponte’s unique work, including illuminated constructions, portraits of creative historic figures, and paintings laced with mystic symbolism, which have evolved from her work as a spiritual medium.

There will be ample time to meet the artist, enjoy the holiday cheer, and sneak in some shopping!  Complimentary refreshments will be served.

Ponte’s mystical mini Gregorian eye paintings, framed in silver and gold bro’s artwork has appeared in the Now Gallery, NYC, Window Box Gallery, NYC, True Fakes Gallery, NYC, O-Roe Electric Art Space, Hoboken, NJ, City Without Walls, Newark, NJ, Studio Montclair Gallery, and the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Gallery, Newton, NJ. The artist is currently represented by Skylands Gallery in Wantage, NJ.

Ponte’s artwork has also appeared in publications as diverse as Architectural Digest, Heavy Metal Magazine, and Parents Magazine. The artist received a distinguished honorary award from her home town of Union City, NJ, in 2014, for creative achievements. In addition, Ponte is the author (and crafts designer) of “Fun and Simple State Crafts,” a series of nine children’s crafts books published by Enslow Publishers.

The gallery and café is located at 5 East Washington Ave., Washington, NJ.
