Nutrition Activities, Music Set For August Market Dates

Mari Byrd will perform this weekend at the Washington Borough Farmers' Market, just one of the activities set for August.

The Washington Borough Farmers’ Market doubles down in fun in August!

In addition to the many farm and craft vendors, this month’s visitors will have some bonus fun in the form of live music and special activities.

On Saturday, Aug. 6, Carly Sopko, Retail Dietician at Shoprite, will be set up for a special Nutrition Education Activity. Always open to taking nutrition-related questions, Sopko will also have giveaways on hand.

The same day, visitors will be able to enjoy the music of Mari Byrd while shopping and learning about nutrition.

Christine DeLeon will then perform on Aug. 20. Face painting is also available each week at the market, regardless of additional activities.

The market runs Saturdays through September 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The market is held along Route 57, anchored in the Downtown Pocket Park, located at 44 E. Washington Ave.

The Farmers’ Market is presented by Smith Tractor & Equipment,, Inc., St. Luke’s University Health Network, the Washington Diner, WRNJ Radio, and the Washington Business Improvement District.

Weekly vendors may include locally grown fruits and vegetable, pasture-raised meats, local honey and honey-based products, including beauty products, fresh-cut flowers and herbs, tea, baked goods, jewelry, hand-made home décor and accessories, wickless candles, and more.
