Tech’s Hufford Named SkillsUSA Officer

Warren Tech's Nick Hufford has been elected SkillsUSA's New Jersey Central Region Vice President.

On Thursday, Oct. 20, Warren County Technical School sophomore Nick Hufford was elected the New Jersey Central Region Vice President of SkillsUSA. SkillsUSA is a national organization that promotes skill development through a non-profit partnership of students, instructors and industry.  Hufford earned the election while traveling with a group of Warren Tech students to the 2016 New Jersey SkillsUSA Fall Conference in Monroe Township.

Warren Tech students Harmony Hunt, Evan Markowitz, Naomi Gomez, John Lukashonak, and Victoria Siedt also traveled with Hufford to participate in the annual meeting and vote for regional officers.

Hufford, campaigning under the theme of “Teamwork,” was successful in his pursuit for office. He earned the New Jersey Central Region Vice President honors where he will serve as an ambassador for both SkillsUSA and Warren Tech. Hufford’s responsibilities will include traveling statewide with the officer team to promote SkillsUSA initiatives, recruit members, and conduct training sessions.

Hufford is enrolled in the Engineering career program at Warren Tech and he is also a member of the cross-country team, the baseball team, and student government. Hufford also will perform in the Warren Tech’s fall production of “It’s a Wonderful Life” at the school on December 10 and 11.
