Voice Competitors At Millrace Pond Jan. 6

Kata Hay, who was part of Team Christina on The Voice, will perform January 6 at Inn at Millrace Pond.

Two performers who were on the hit TV show, The Voice, earlier this year will be part of a special show at the Inn at Millrace Pond in Hope on Friday Jan. 6.

Kata Hay and Jesse Bardwell are on tap to perform, Kata with Dan O’Rourke, and Jesse with Elliott Peck (Peck & Penn).

The two duos will play as part of the Inn’s regular Friday night music series, from 7-9 p.m. The Inn is located in the center of historic Hope, two minutes from exit 12 on Route 80.

Hay stepped on stage for the first time at the age of 2. She proudly belted out her rendition of Hank Williams “Hey Good Lookin'” acapella, wowed the crowd, and hasn’t slowed down since. Over the years she became the youngest person to EVER win Ed McMahon’s Star Search at age 5, took home the AWA’s Rising Star Award, became a hall of fame inductee of the Oklahoma Opry, won 5 International Yodeling Championships, and was honored with being the ONLY recipient of the Grant Leftwich Legacy Award.

During her teenage years Kata traveled the US, and toured Australia twice playing a combination of her original songs, and Western Swing classics. Her cd “Cowboys, Guitars, and a Lil’ Bit Of Swing” made it in the top 5 on the Western Music Charts, and her cover of “Cattle Call” held the #1 spot for 3 weeks. At age 18, Kata made the move to Tennessee, and with her band, Kata & The Blaze, opened for legends such as Merle Haggard and Wanda Jackson.

Hay was on The Voice on Team Christina.

Peck & Penn is an Americana-roots duo, from opposite coasts. Bardwell, front man for Quimby Mountain Band, and Peck, from the San Francisco area and lead singer for Midnight North, combined their efforts last year to become a formidable pair on the music scene. Together they fashion a blend of old time country, Americana, roots and folk music, focusing on both originals and classic country covers.

The Inn offers a full menu, tavern food, full bar, and craft bars on tap.

There is no charge to attend but reservations are recommended. To make a reservation for this special show, call the Inn at 908-459-4884. For directions and more information, visit www.innatmillracepond.com.
