Made up in the past of both “household names” as well as residents who fly under the radar while going that extra mile to help those around them, the 2016 Warren County Hall of Fame class will be something special. But first they must be nominated.

The Hall of Fame committee is seeking nominations of Warren County residents who have “made Warren County proud” through making a difference. Nominees must be submitted by May 10.

Nominations should be based on one or more of the following qualities: Public service, military service, business, sports, arts and entertainment, education, or special recognition (for those who have impacted the county but do not fall into the previous categories).

Each category is broad and may apply to multiple types of nominees. For example, public service nominations can include community volunteers or a public official that has positively impacted the community. Business nominees can be either a business person or business itself. Sports nominees have included athletes, sports administrators, and coaches, including careers in Warren County and beyond. Arts and entertainment nominees also may have careers that stretched beyond the county. Military service nominees may be active or veteran members of the armed services.

The committee reminds nominators that nominations do not need to be based on long-term service. For example, a younger educator who has crafted a unique program that will benefit county students in years to come would be considered for Hall of Fame status, as would a younger member of the military who has gone above and beyond the call of duty.

All nominees should be alive and have strong ties to Warren County, which can include a current or former resident, or someone who works or serves in the county.

Do you know someone who is Hall of Fame caliber?

Nominations can be e-mailed to wchalloffame@warren.edu and must include your name and contact information, the nominee’s name and contact information, and a short essay on why you feel the nominee should be selected to the Warren County Hall of Fame. If you prefer, paper nomination forms can be printed from the Foundation website here.

The Hall of Fame was established by the Warren County Community College Foundation to recognize the county’s finest. It has grown in popularity each year and the annual Hall of Fame Dinner has been sold out the last three years. This year’s event will be held in October at Hawk Pointe Golf Club in Washington.

The public can visit the Hall of Fame display representing past winners at WCCC during school hours.
