Warren Hills Students Hear About Healthy Choices

The Warren Hills Regional High School Healthy Options and Culinary Clubs recently hosted a “Healthy Choices” showcase directed at teens to help them make informed choices for portion control, snack and food choices. Guest speaker, Carly Sopko, from the Washington ShopRite,a Registered Dietitian, presented a slide show and served a variety of healthy snacks to the students. Sopko explained how to read ingredient labels, the use of artificial dyes and high fructose corn syrup, and that “Powerade” type drinks are only necessary after one full hour of exercise, stating that water is the best option.
