Warren Tech Lady Knights Volleyball Looks to Finish Strong (Video)

The Lady Knights stand for the National Anthem before a game against Newark Tech.

Despite getting off to a slow start, the Warren County Technical School (Warren Tech) Lady Knights Volleyball teams are looking to finish the season strong.  On paper it may show that there is a junior varsity and a varsity team, but the reality is that they are all like one big team, or “all friends” if you ask senior captain Mikayla Kato

This is especially true in the way that they help and support each other through the ups and downs over the course of their season on and off the court.

They did not waste any time this offseason either as the players attended camps and worked closely with the captains, Caelin McDonnell and Kato, to hone their efforts.  In his tenth season as head coach, Ken Muller has been very impressed with the work ethic and fundamentals the players brought into this season.

“In the games when our fundamentals are strong, we are right in there,” he said. “We’re battling right up to the last couple points and hopefully we need to just keep those fundamentals going.”

Although star captains Kato and McDonnell will be graduating in June, Warren Tech Volleyball can look forward to a bright future as the team has some solid young talent including Rebecca Dickson and Brianna Branciforte, both of whom are leaders in their own right.

Kato said she sees “great potential” in all the players, and they are all “moving up really fast.”
