Washington’s 12th Annual Car Show Slated June 18

Time to rev up the engines for the 12th Annual Washington Car show.

“The Car Show is a tradition in Downtown Washington,” said John Monteverde, Executive Director of the hosting Washington Business Improvement District. “It’s a great family-friendly event and this year we are adding new elements to the day.”

This is more than just a car show. In addition to classic cars, the WBID is inviting antique truck, and farm equipment owners to showcase their vehicles. Owners of Rat Rods are also invited to bring their vehicles to Downtown Washington, too!

The show takes place in the Municipal Parking Lot by the Town Clock.  In between checking out the show vehicles, folks can also take advantage of the weekly farmers’ market and do some vegetable and fruit shopping with local farmers on hand, check out the many unique downtown shops, and have a bite to eat at several eateries. Additionally, attendees will enjoy music provided by DJ Extraordinaire Doc South.

This year’s event takes place Saturday June 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the rain date June 19.

Presented by the Washington Business Improvement District in the Downtown Borough Shopping District on E. Washington Avenue (Rt. 57), the show is free to the public.

The car show began in 2004 and is always a well-attended event with vehicles from throughout the region and beyond converging on Washington.

The car show generally attracts 100 or more cars, and trucks that fill up the parking lot. There are always giveaways, goodie bags and prizes awarded for “Long Distance”-attendee who traveled the farthest to the Show, “Antique Award”-oldest vehicle in Show, “People’s Choice” for the favorite Car and Motorcycle, and initiated last year, a new category, “Most Unique.”

Preregistration for all vehicles is $20, or $25 day of show.

Platinum Sponsors include Smith Motor Company, Rossi Chevrolet Buick GMC, and RJ Strunk, with additional sponsorship support from Fliegauf Jewelers, Stew’s Auto Body, WRNJ Radio, and The Herbalist & Alchemist.
