Individuals looking to gain employment in the healthcare field are encouraged to attend the 1st Annual Warren County Community College Healthcare Career Job Fair on Aug. 10 at its Phillipsburg Education Center campus. The Fair runs from 2-6 p.m.
Several companies will be on hand to answer questions and meet with prospective employees and conduct on-site interviews, including Homecare Angels, Comfort Keepers, Warren Haven Rehabilitation Center, Genesis Healthcare, DaVita Dialysis, The Chelsea at Brookfield, Fresenius Kidney Care, Forest Manor Health Center, St. Luke’s University Health Network, Massage Envy (Chester), Home Instead Senior Care, Hunterdon Medical Center and others. Attendees should come with their resumes.
The Phillipsburg Education Center is located right off of Route 22, at 445 Marshall Street, Phillipsburg.
The healthcare field continues to be one of the leading fields for employment. In particular, healthcare support occupations and healthcare practitioners and technical occupations are projected to be the two fastest growing occupational groups during the 2014 to 2024 projections decade. These groups are projected to contribute the most new jobs, with a combined increase of 2.3 million in employment, representing about 1 in 4 new jobs.
The healthcare and social assistance major sector is expected to become the largest employing major sector during the projections decade; adding 3.8 million jobs. The healthcare and social assistance industry is projected to account for over one‐third of total job growth (the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics)
In fact, the 30 occupations projected to grow the fastest include 18 in healthcare. Among those are: Pharmacy Technicians, Dental Assistants, Physical Therapy Aides, Medical Assistants, and Phlebotomy Technicians; WCCC offers degrees in these and other healthcare programs.
