The Washington Borough Farmers Market is more than just an opportunity to buy fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers – each week there is a different theme with specially crafted activities and live music.
The weekly Farmers Market, presented by the Washington Business Improvement District and the Washington Green team, is held in the center of Downtown Washington every Saturday by Veteran’s Park through the end of September, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Each week features a different special activity or theme, including musical performers, DJs, appreciation days, a mini kids fest, and more.
Kicking off the music in July is local favorite, Steve Kirchuk, on July 5. The next week, which is also Pet Appreciation Day, Bernie Drury takes the stage. July 19 is Christmas in July with Santa and Mrs. Claus in attendance, and DJ Mitch Hess spinning “holiday” and other favorite tunes. The July schedule is capped with the music of Jesse Bardwell on a day that is being recognized as Emergency Services Appreciation Day.
Among the farmers market vendors coming this year are: Pipers Hill Farms, Greenbytes Farm, K & A Farm, Fiddlers Farm, Dandy Lion Acres Farm, Sweet Tucker’s Bake Shop, K&D Refillery, Wilder Farm, and Azul Poblano. Other vendors who will be on hand during the season are Millie and ME – Garden Stand, Bee To The Honey, Tater Bear Treats, Mambo Bake Shop and Luscious Sprits.
