Red Bulls, Tri-County CMO raise mental health awareness at soccer match

Two hundred people representing families from Somerset, Warren, and Hunterdon Counties enjoyed a – free – exciting night of professional soccer earlier this summer between the Red Bulls and the Atlanta United at Sports illustrated Stadium in Harrison.

While the game ended in a 2-2 tie, most importantly, the Red Bulls and New Jersey Care Management Organization used the opportunity to raise awareness of mental health, particularly with children. The tickets were partially sponsored by EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants.

“As CMOs, we understand that sometimes families are seeking help for their children but don’t always know where to go,” said James Parauda, CEO of Tri-County CMO. ” It can be overwhelming to know what to do when a child is struggling in the areas of mental health, behavioral health, substance use, or developmental disabilities. We work collaboratively with schools, the youth justice system, and mental health and behavioral health providers to advocate for family voice, choice and community support. CMOs help youth succeed at school, home and in the community.”

Tri-County Chief Operations Officer Matthew LaRoche is proud to wear special shirt presented by the Red Bulls soccer team during Mental Health Awareness Night in late June.

The Red Bull Organization launched this annual initiative in 2019 with a goal to work with local mental health organizations to help spread awareness and eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health and fight the stigma associated with this.
