Abilities of Northwest Jersey, Inc. has been on the receiving end of two grants that will support its Employment Pathways division.

A $1,000 grant from New Jersey’s Affinity Federal Credit Union and a $2,500 grant from the TJX Foundation, Inc. will support endeavors in career exploration and planning, prevocational training, community job development and sampling, and onsite training and job placement, according to Abilities COO Susan Zukoski.

“Our services have been successful in increasing awareness of career fields, empowering individual personal growth, supporting employment choices and maintaining employment,” she said.

Working to “Create Something Better,” the Affinity Foundation’s mission is to provide its members and communities with solutions to improve financial wellness, educational programs that enable self-sufficiency, and support that ensures access to essential healthcare services.

The TJX Foundation is an affiliate of TJX Companies, Inc., a leading worldwide apparel and home fashions retailer. Its mission is to provide value to communities by helping vulnerable families and children access the resources and opportunities they need to build a better future.

Employment is the core of Abilities’ mission, and Abilities has been supporting individuals in securing community employment for more than 30 years.
