Cadette Scout Earns Silver Award For Shed Project

Sky Anne Griesmeyer didn’t know anything about the Pohatcong History and Heritage Society until she learned her father, Pete, was a member.

As she learned more about the group, she knew she became interested and knew she wanted to help. When she asked what they needed, the members told her they needed a storage shed, so she built them one out of pallets. The project earned her the Girl Scout Silver Award. She is a Cadette Scout in Troop 90169 and a freshman at Phillipsburg High School.

The shed didn’t have to go far from Sky Anne’s New Brunswick Avenue home to Shimer Manor, the society’s major project, right across the street. It is to be used to store lawn maintenance equipment the volunteers use to maintain the grounds of the historic 1851 house.
