Cathy’s People Pic Of Week Is A Salute To Heroes

Every Friday night this summer, from 5-9 p.m. through August 31, Donaldson Farms in Mansfield Township hosts Summer Nights on the Farm, featuring a different guest chef and farm fresh menu each week, along with live music.

On August 10, the guest chef was Jamie of Piggy’s Deli & BBQ, and music was performed by the Atlanta Cafe Band. There was plenty to keep the children busy: face painting, balloon and sand art, arts and crafts, laser tag, hayrides, pony rides, and more.

This evening was a special “Heroes Night” with Mansfield Township Police, Hackettstown and Tri-County Fire Departments, and Mansfield EMS (and their rigs) on hand. They were giving tours of their trucks, answering questions, and handing out stickers, hats and coloring books. Special shout-outs throughout the evening went to several war veterans in the crowd, culminating with everyone standing while “The Star Spangled Banner” was played in honor of the servicemen and women.
