Roaming Around – Looking for signs of Spring – IT’S COMING!!

Hope you All had a wonderful weekend, (April 13-14, 2024) although still looking for some warmer drier weather!! Did some roaming around looking for stuff trips Saturday and Sunday and as always had an enjoyable time observing wildlife!! Most of these photos and clips are from the weekend, however I did add a couple that I took earlier that caught my fancy!

DESCRIPTION OF ABOVE PHOTOS

Red-tailed hawk on the nest – The predators Hawks, Owls, and Eagles get an earlier start than most birds

Taking photos of the turtle and suddenly these eyes popped up – literally!  Always special moments when different species are in same photo

Osprey in distant tree over wetlands.  I thought I noticed something and when zoomed in was pleasantly surprised.  Check out those long talons for grasping fish

Canada Goose and turtle.  I thought for sure the turtle would slip into the water, BUT, he obviously was not bothered by the closeness of the goose!  I always am challenged creeping up to them in person OR by car!!!

Downy Woodpecker – this was a gift!!!  I am looking out of my car over the guard rail into the wetlands and my tiny friend flew right into my view shed about twenty feet away!!

Red winged Blackbird atop wetlands.  He would flutter off and immediately return putting on quite a show and photo opportunity!  When you visit my Flickr site, LISTEN while watching the videos, there is a lot going on in the wetlands!!
