Clarinetist Levinson Leads Next Rutherfurd Jazz Show

Dan Levinson

The 2019-2020 jazz concert series continues Sunday, March 22, at historic Rutherfurd Hall with the Dan Levinson Sextet performing traditional and hot jazz.

The afternoon show runs 3-5 p.m., perfect for those who don’t want the weekend to end but still need time to get ready for Monday.

Playing traditional and hot jazz – which was formerly known as Dixieland – the sextet is headed by esteemed clarinetist Dan Levinson. Levinson, named 2017’s Best Clarinetist in the NYC Jazz Fans’ Choice category by Hot House Magazine, is equally at home as leader and sideman. He has toured worldwide with names that include Mel Torme and Woody Allen. He can be heard on soundtracks that include Martin Scorsese’s “The Aviator” and HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire.”

Tickets for Dan Levinson Sextet are $30 in advance or $35 at the door.

Shows are sponsored by Heath Village retirement community in Hackettstown and John Johnson Insurance in Budd Lake.
