Cub Scout Pack 222 Launches Derby Season

Mansfield Cub Scout Pack 222 held their annual Pinewood Derby Race on Friday, Jan. 27th. In all, 46 scouts took their creations to the racetrack.  Nicholas Staada took home the top prize with his car, “Slowpoke,” followed by Tyler Phoebus racing “American Arrow,” and David Kocsor with “Crusher.”

Ethan Drazek took first place in the Challengers Division with his car “Bad News.”  The Scout’s Choice Award went to Matthew Jupiter with “Titanic.” Also noted were Sean Briganti taking home the award for Funniest Design with “The Trump,” and Erik Diaz, who won Most Creative Design with “Ammunition.”

Up next for the top finishers will be the Forks of the Delaware Pinewood Derby taking place on March 18 in Belvidere.
