DiCapula’s Cranberry Nut Cake Takes The Cake

Sophia DiCapula’s Cranberry Nut Cake took the cake at the Washington Farmers’ Market’s Red, White & Blue dessert contest.
DiCapula, of Washington Borough, won first place in the contest. Her colorful cake was adorned with a July 4th theme that included patriotic flats. And it was delicious, too!
Second place went to Joyce Lopez, for her American Berry Pie; third place to Adrian Rivera, for a Red Velvet Cake. Gloria Hoffman took fourth place for her Loaded Blondie Bites Cake.
The Red, White & Blue dessert contest was held on Saturday July 7. Prizes to the winners were donated by Hairmazing, Fliegauf’s Jewelers, , William’s Irish Tavern, and the Washington Farmers’ Market.
The Washington Farmers Market, presented by the Washington Business Improvement District, schedules special events all season long, including musical entertainers and kids’ activities. The market is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Located in the Borough parking lot in the center of the downtown, the market offers local fresh fruits and vegetables and other healthy products.
