Diminick, Unterwald, Tandoh, Massimo, Hall, Miller, Among Those Recognized For Academic Excellence

Six stellar Warren Community College graduates from the classes of 2020 and 2021 led the field of those especially recognized for outstanding academic leadership during the June 26th commencement which this year honored the classes of both 2020 and 2021.

The six included: 2020 graduate Andrea Massimo and 2021 graduate James Unterwald received the President’s Academic Award; 2020 graduate Jesse Lou Hall and 2021 graduate Nanaama Tandoh received the Foundation Award; and 2020 graduate Noelle Milller and 2021 graduate Tracy Diminick received the Trustees Award. Massimo, Miller and Unterwald also received the Phi Theta Kappa Award.

The six were among numerous graduates who were recognized for their outstanding efforts. 

WCC President Dr. Will Austin noted that the graduate awardees “from both years deserve a tremendous amount of credit for their tenacity in pursuing their education when the challenges were beyond anyone’s imagination” due to COVID. 

WCCC Board of Trustees Chair Dr. Phil Linfante agreed, declaring “without a doubt this group of honorees definitely earns extra recognition!”

·        Elementary & Secondary Education Award: Danielle Yawger (2020), Emily Bussard (2021)

·        EOF Educational Opportunity Fund Award: Alexandra Rounsaville (2020), Macarena Massarino-Moneta (2021)

·        Fine Arts Award: Sarah Perez (2020), Juno Quigley (2021)

·        Foundation Award: Jesse Hall (2020), Nanaama Tandoh (2021)

·        Literary Award: Destiny Smith (2020), Rachel Morris (2021)

·        Medical Assisting Award: Autumn McLaughlin (2020), Carly Longacre (2021)

·        Nursing Award: Lori Vanator (2020), Becca Visone (2021)
