Food Truck Fest kicks off Donaldsons’ ‘music season’

Strawberries, tomatoes, fresh baked pies and other baked goods aren’t the only things to look forward to at Donaldson Farms in the coming months. Music will once again be in the air throughout the summer, starting with a pre-summer Food Truck Festival on Saturday June 5.

In addition to music and fresh fruits and vegetables, Donaldson Farms will also play host to its ever popular weekly Little Learning Farmers program, Wednesday Workshops on the Farm and other special activities. New this year Czigmeister Brewing Company in Hackettstown will be selling their craft beers to go on weekends, and at several of the farm’s special events. James On Main will be providing the food for many of the Friday Night on the Farm music shows.

Donaldson Farms is located on Allen Road in Mansfield Township, near Routes 57 and 46. The Donaldson Farms farm market is open seven days a week, offers an array of farm fresh fruits and veggies, baked goods, local artisan products, cheese and crackers, dairy products, and more.

The music schedule this year includes two food truck festivals. On June 5, entertainment includes Naughty Humphrey, the Katie Henry Band, and Bombed Opera. The second food truck festival doubles as a fundraiser for the Arc of Warren County, on Saturday July 24, featuring the JerZgirls and Americana country-rock band Kinderhook.

The Friday night series gets going on June 18 with the Bob Lanza Band. Among the other bands playing in the series, which continues most Fridays through Sept. 3, are the Jeff Belfry Band (June 25), Atlanta Cafe Band (July 9), Bombed Opera (July 16), Clouds in My Coffee (July 30), The Noble Brothers (Aug 6), and later in August, Bombed Opera (Aug. 13), The Emulators – pictured above (Aug. 20) and the Trevor B. Power Band (Aug. 27).

Tickets are available for all of the music events, which are family-friendly. For more about Donaldson Farms, including its store hours and special activities, visit www.donaldsonfarms.net
