Getting out and dining in

The Washington Diner, a traditional New Jersey diner serving Warren county for years, was hopping with folks looking for a hearty breakfast on Sunday, March 21.

Recently given the green light to up the number of customers allowed inside, the red, silver and stone diner was humming with the clatter of dishes and silverware and lively conversations.

Enjoying a big breakfast in a booth for two were Candy and Tony DeFillippis. Candy is retired and babysits her young grandchildren. Tony has worked at Johanna Foods for 28 years as a maintenance supervisor.

Sharing a large table in another area of the diner were Marco, Maria, Joshua, Mariela, Danna, and Juan. Maria and Joshua are from Washington, the others hail from Bloomfield, and plan to relocate to Washington soon.

All agreed their morning repasts at the Diner were excellent.
