In addition to providing health care to Warren and Morris counties, Atlantic Health System and Hackettstown Medical Center (HMC) are committed to building healthier communities. And so, HMC’s Community Advisory Board has awarded grants to several local organizations that promote health and healthy living within the community.

The grant winners are Foodshed Alliance, which helps provide access to fresh foods for a healthy diet, Healing Partners Counseling, Inc., and NORWESCAP. Funding will go towards projects related to healthy eating, diabetes outreach, and obesity education.

These grants were chosen based on a list of priority health needs identified by a Warren County needs assessment. Included among the list of needs were diabetes and obesity support.

The grants awarded meet one or more of the identified priority health needs and gives Hackettstown Medical Center and Atlantic Health System the opportunity to cooperate with community partners to address these needs.
