Land of Make Believe’s Safety Record Deemed Elite

The Land of Make Believe in Hope has been deemed top-of-the-line when it comes to Safety.

This is nothing new, though, as Land of Make Believe’s Pirate Cove Water Park has for several years now has attained the highest designation from the Starfish Aquatics Institute for its safety record. As such they are recognized as a 5-Star Water Park.

“This is a great honor for our team here,” said Christopher Maier, owner of Land of Make Believe.   “I am very proud of them.”

Continuing over 65 years of a tradition of safe and wholesome fun, the designation to the park and Maier recently came from the highly-regarded institution after an extensive stealth inspection.

The Elite 5-Star Safety Award rating signifies Land of Make Believe as one of the safest, most compliant water parks in the United States.

The award-winning Land of Make Believe has been recognized by numerous statewide and national groups over the years and is considered among the top Amusement and Water Parks in the nation for its overall excellence in operations, safety, and consistent compliance with federal, state, county and local regulations and standards.

Celebrating many seasons at the foothills of Jenny Jump Mountain, the park, the largest employer of youths in Warren County, has been particularly recognized by the Starfish Aquatics Institute for the Water Park’s lifeguards for their efforts in Prevention, Surveillance, Emergency Care, Aquatic Rescue, Professionalism and Personal Safety.

“We have a tremendous group of lifeguards,” said Maier. “They take their jobs very seriously. They pay attention to every detail while on duty and it shows in this important designation. This is not a recognition that comes lightly. Right from the start we bring in the most dedicated and conscientious individuals as lifeguards. We have a reputation for bringing in only the best.”

Recognized by a host of organizations for its importance to the tourism industry, Land of Make Believe has long been considered an economic engine in Northern New Jersey. Additionally, the park has saved 450 acres of open space at no cost to taxpayers. Land of Make Believe will be open daily through Labor Day Weekend and for its Grand Finale Weekend Sept. 7-8.
