Much In Store As Hackettstown Celebrates Halloween

The Hackettstown Business Improvement District’s Halloween Downtown will be Saturday, Oct. 29, starting with the annual parade which begins forming at 2 p.m. at Centenary University, Jefferson Street.

The parade starts at 3 p.m.

Trunk or Treat at Trinity Methodist Church runs from 4 to 6 p.m. and continues at downtown merchants who display wither an orange pumpkin indicating they are giving away candy or a teal pumpkin indicating they are giving away a non-food item.

Hackettstown Businesses will Halloween-themed food and drink Items as well as sales and specials.

Events include:

At Centenary, on Friday, Oct 28 at 7 and 9 p.m. Haunted Zombie Laser Tag; on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11:30 a.m., Goblin Gala, and from 7 to 10 p.m., Haunted Prom Masquerade Ball.

At Psychic Readings by Anna (119 Main St), a half-price reading if you mention the BID and Halloween Candy for the kids. Open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. In addition, you may book a Psychic for your Halloween Party by calling (908)343-1705.

Me to You Consignment (122 Main St), all day 10% off entire store and 50% off Fall and Halloween items. Trick or treat for candy.

El Tucan, 133 Main Street, waiters will be dressed in costume/characters. Spooky Dinners every Wednesday and Thursday 6:30 to 9 p.m. Halloween music and movies.

Gabbys II Pizza, 190 Mountain Ave, with Precision Collision and Restoration from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. costume contest Halloween party with drinks, appetizers, music and dancing.

Skylands Family Pharmacy, 198 Mountain Ave, free blood pressure cuff with transfer to our pharmacy and candy or non-candy for Trick-or-Treaters.

On Sunday, Oct 30 from 3 to 6 p.m. The Hackettstown Center for the Arts, 181 Main St features Hackettstown Horror and the Macabre Film Festival at the Strand Art House Cinema. Scarecrow Selfie Contest!

The Selfie with a Scarecrow contest sponsored by the Hackettstown Business Improvement District runs until Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 9 a.m.

Entrants must take a selfie with a scarecrow in front of one of the participating businesses and email the photo to socialmedia@hackettstownbid.com or share on Facebook and tag @hackettstownbid.

Facebook will go live for voting (likes) at noon on Nov. 1 and will stay open until noon Monday, Nov. 7. The winner will be notified at 1 p.m. on Nov. 7. The selfie with the most likes wills $25 in BID bucks to spend in any participating business.
