November Nights are Filled With Knowledge at Rutherfurd Hall

Rutherfurd Hall

The leaves are falling and Daylight Saving has ended, leaving us shorter days and longer nights. Lucky for us, Rutherfurd Hall’s lecture series take off this month. Learn something new to share around the Thanksgiving table at one of the below lectures!

Attend “Data Privacy in a Social Media World,” part of the free Centenary University lecture series, on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. at Rutherfurd Hall. The lecture will be led by Professor Tim Guella, Director of Social Media at Centenary. The lecture is sponsored by The House of the Good Shepherd. No registration required.

The following night, Thursday, Nov. 7, at 6:30 p.m., join Rutherfurd Hall historian Joan Salvas for a historical presentation at the Hackettstown Library. Hackettstown Library is located at 110 Church Street in downtown Hackettstown. Please register at www.hackettstownlibrary.org.

Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m., the lectures continue with “Stress Busters,” led by James R. Fedich, DC. The presentation will cover ways to help lower stress and keep it out of your life. The lecture will last about an hour followed by a Q&A session with tea and light snacks. No reservation is required.

A Luce Home Decor Fundraiser and Open House will take place Thursday, Nov. 14. Make a home goods purchase at Luce’s, 159 Main Street in Hackettstown, any time during the day and 20% of the proceeds will go toward preserving and upgrading Rutherfurd Hall. Then, join the Rutherfurd Hall committee between 5 and 7 p.m. to hear about the future of the hall.

That same night, you can enjoy the monthly Adult Paint and Wine Night. Enjoy a BYOB evening of creating a fall masterpiece. All supplies, professional instruction, and light snacks are included. Tickets are $25 per person. The event begins at 7 p.m.

What’s in fashion? Find out at a special free Fashion Event with Fashion Show from Centenary University’s “House of Fashion” Club on Friday, Nov. 15. With Kristen McKitish, Assistant Professor of Fashion, and Mia Wang, Associate Professor of Fashion, see how students express themselves through the art of fashion.
