OCS October Update: A Month of Awareness

During the week of Oct. 21-25, Oxford Central School participated in “Red Ribbon Week,” a national alcohol, tobacco, drug, and violence prevention and awareness campaign. This year’s journey was “Send a Message. Stay Drug Free.” Each day, students and staff participated in a variety of activities about the dangers of abusing drugs and alcohol.

Also in October, to honor breast cancer awareness month, OCS raised $200 to be donated to Casting for Recovery. This organization provides free fly-fishing retreats to those battling breast cancer, at no cost to participants. The nature retreats allow for finding inspiration, discovering renewed energy, and connecting with others going through similar experiences.
