Pets, Potatoes, Pumpkins Highlight Farmers Market

Pets, Potatoes, and Pumpkins, oh my! The Washington Farmers Market in September is not slowing down.

The Market, which takes place every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. by Veteran’s Park in the center of the Downtown, offers a host of fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as other locally sourced products.

September marks the end of the season for the Market, with special events throughout the month, and including Oct. 1. This coming Saturday morning August winds down with the the band, Hippie Speedball.

Themed specialty days in September include Pet Appreciation Day, Sept. 3 and Potato Fun Day Sept. 10 (with children’s activities with potatoes and music by Jessica Koppinger). Sept. 17 the Market is part of the Festival in the Borough and its array of music and activities), and on Sept. 24, Market customers are also invited to check out the Borough’s town-wide garage sale. The season concludes with a Pop Up October Fest & Pumpkin Round Up on Oct. 1 that will feature many kids activities.
