Rutherfurd Hall Slates Winter Session Programs

Rutherfurd Hall is presenting its winter session extra-curricular programs now through April 7.

Two ARTspiration programs are offered:

Tuesday programs are for children in grades 4 through 8, from 3:20 to 4:20 p.m. On Feb. 1, the topic is drawing skills, shapes and composition; on Feb. 8, the topic is perspective and shading; on Feb. 15, the topic is introduction to color through watercolors; on Feb. 22, the topic is positive and negative space.

Thursday programs are for children in kindergarten through third grade. On Feb. 3, the topic is introduction to drawing; on Feb. 10, the topic is primary and secondary colors; on Feb. 17, the topic is introduction to watercolors; on Feb. 24, the topic is spatial awareness.

Two programs will be presented by ChefitupSussexCounty:

On Wednesday, Feb. 23 from 3:15 to 4:15, the class will be a winter-themed parent and me cooking workshop, making a winter parfait, winter themed chocolate-covered pretzels and a chance to decorate a mitten-shaped cookie. Children can enjoy their snacks while listening to a story. Cost is $40 per parent/child group, $25 if the program has to go virtual.

All products are peanut and other nut free. Please advise of any allergies at the time of registration. If the program goes virtual, we will send an email with ingredients and Zoom link ahead of time so parents can be sure to have the supplies ready. On Thursdays, March 3 through April 7 from 3:15 to 4:15, ChefItUp will present an international food tour. The chefs will make foods from countries such as Ireland, Italy, Poland, Mexico and Japan.
