Small Business Saturday A chance To Shop Nearby

The Hackettstown Business Improvement District is celebrating the 12th annual Small Business Saturday in a big way – and not just on one Saturday!

Hackettstown is just one of thousands of towns around the country – and right here in Warren County – promoting the efforts of small businesses. While Small Business Saturday is typically celebrated on just one day of the year, business leaders urge residents to shop small all year round as they are the backbone of the USA’s commerce.

The Small Business Saturday concept comes from American Express which partners with local organizations like the Hackettstown and Washington BIDs by providing promotional materials such as posters and cloth shopping bags.

In Washington Borough you might catch Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus on Saturday Nov. 27 as they visit businesses throughout the town. DJ Mitch Hess will play an assortment of holiday tunes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hackettstown will celebrate Small Business Saturday, Nov. 27 through Sunday, Dec. 5.

To encourage shoppers to shop small, the HBID is holding drawings for BID BUCKS and other prizes, including some provided by American Express. For each purchase, just email the receipt to the BID office at socialmedia@hackettstownbid.com. For each receipt the shopper’s name will be entered into a drawing for $25 in BID BUCKS. BID BUCKS can be used at any participating BID business in Hackettstown.
