United Way’s Chili Open Golf Classic Tees Off Feb. 5

The annual United Way of Northern New Jersey winter golf tournament will be played “regardless of weather” on Saturday, Feb. 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sussex County Fairgrounds.

The Chili Open Golf Classic supports the United Way’s work over a five-county region. After the 18-hole game, golfers can warm up with chili and a variety of fare from local restaurants. There is also a raffle with prized from local businesses and live music from the Sussex County band R.E.NO.

The event is in partnership with the Rotary Clubs of Branchville, Newton and Wallkill Valley with proceeds going to ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) and households in poverty in Morris, Somerset, Suburban Essex, Sussex and Warren counties.

To date, Franklin Mutual Insurance and Thorlabs are serving as Name a Nine Sponsors. Habanero Sponsors include ADP TotalSource, Homebridge Financial Services, Lakeland Bank, navitend, Newton Medical Center Foundation, and Selective Insurance.

Tickets are $105 per golfer and $400 per foursome.
