East Art Gallery’s featured artist is Ghanaian Artist Anthony Tettey.  Tettey began his artwork at the age of 7 in Ghana where his mother saw his gift and nurtured his talent.  This is his first exhibition in the United States .  His brightly colored oils on raw canvas depict the life and culture of Ghana and Africa. Tettey hopes to widen his exhibition to other cities here in the U.S.  The reception will include a video of his life in Ghana.  The exhibition will be up until the end of October, when he will join 5 East Art Gallery for representation.

M Galleries exhibition of “Multiverse” by Caitlin Servilio.- opens Oct. 3 and will be up through Oct. 31. “In comics, fantasy, and science fiction, it’s understood that other worlds exist beyond our own. Often in stories, these other universes are accessed through nature. Characters may stumble upon them deep in a forest, behind a waterfall, or through a hole in a tree trunk. Like those characters, I also feel closest to something otherworldly and strange when surrounded by nature. In this body of work, I offer a variety of potential landscapes drawn from New Jersey locations, the more faithful versions layered with the more fantastical. Each suggests a place where the barrier between us and the rest of the multiverse is thinner than usual.” -Caitlin Servilio
