Warren Hills’ Wheelan Named FFA Star Greenhand

By Sarah Chaplain

Elizabeth Wheelan, Treasurer of the Warren Hills Regional High School FFA, has been selected as the NJ FFA Star Greenhand!

Some of Wheelan’s accomplishments in her young FFA career have been Star Chapter Greenhand, 2nd highest FFA points earned and 4th place in the NJ FFA Agronomy Career Development Event (CDE).

Wheelan has several Supervised Agriculture Experience’s (SAE’s) going on at the moment. A few of them are: taking care of her vegetable garden, tending the community garden plot, her blue and marigold project, and helping others tend their gardens. A few of her FFA highlights thus far include attending the NJ State FFA Convention because of the enthusiasm as well as the many touching moments that incurred. She also liked our chapter’s awards banquet because she was elected treasurer there. Wheelan also enjoyed the first CDE she participated in, Fruit and Vegetable Identification.

Warren Hills FFA is proud of how well Wheelan has grown and developed throughout her first year as an FFA member and is excited to see where her FFA career takes her!  Wheelan will be recognized at the fifth session of the 88th State FFA Convention on Friday, May 25, 2018 held in the Pollak Theatre at Monmouth University in West Long Branch.
