Area Chamber To Tackle Legal Questions At Luncheon

Often times you hear of businesses getting caught up in a legal matter that they never thought would happen to them. The Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce’s August Lunch ‘N Learn is all about taking steps to limit or avoid the pain of legal problems.  Thus, “Avoiding Legal Root Canal” is the obvious title for this month’s luncheon.

The Mount Olive Chamber serves Warren, Morris and Sussex Counties. The luncheon is set for Tuesday Aug. 22 at Adam’s Hot Bagels, 41 Route 46, Budd Lake (near the entrance to Route 80), from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

All businesses need to have a solid foundation in order to succeed. Accounting, sales, operations, and customer management to name a few. But what about legal issues? Too many businesses wait until trouble arises before addressing them. Business Lawyer Eric Kaiser will talk about potential legal issues that businesses should be aware of to help avoid problems and keep small problems from becoming big problems. Topics will include:
  • Preventative Law and the role of the transactional lawyer
  • Some common mistakes made by startups and early-stage businesses
  • Some contract basics/how to make a contract?
  • When is a contract necessary?
  • What are some essential contracts for small and growing businesses?

Cost for the event is $15 for MOACC members and $20 for non-members if you prepay. $5 will be added to the cost if you pay at the door.

Reserve your spot today for this hugely timely topic at www.mountolivechambernj.com.

This is one of several of the Chamber’s regular events each month. Marketing in the Morning, a complimentary benefit to members of the Chamber, takes place the 3rd Wednesday morning of every month from 7:15 to 9 a.m. The next meeting takes place on Sept. 20 at Hackettstown Medical Center. Pre-registration is not required. There is a $10 fee but it is complimentary to members of the chamber. You can register for this program in advance at the chamber website.

In addition, the chamber hosts monthly meetings for Young Professionals and Women in Business. Women in Business next meets on Sept. 12 at Mamas Restaurant and Cafe in Hackettstown in the evening with guest speaker Tommy Hilcken. Details at the website. For further information about the chamber and its array of events and benefits, visit www.mountolivechambernj.com.
