Cancer Pink Game Raises $300 for Memorial Walk

2016 HHS Lady Tigers Volleyball Team recently held their second annual Pink Game, to raise funds for The Walk To Benefit Joan Knechel Cancer Center

On Friday, Oct. 7, the Hackettstown High School Lady Tigers Volleyball program hosted the Lady Tigers of Dover High School for their 2nd Annual Pink Game.  All proceeds from the Tiger vs. Cancer Pink Game will benefit the Joan Knechel Cancer Center at Hackettstown Medical Center. Joan Westpy and Janen Ardia, co-chairs of The Walk to Benefit the Joan Knechel Cancer Center, kicked off the team fundraiser by speaking about the upcoming event. Unlike other similar walks, all funds raised will stay local to provide high-quality cancer care close to home. The varsity game followed. The Tigers beat Dover 2-0.

The admission donations and bake sale raised $300. This money will go directly towards the Lady Tiger’s team goal of $1,500 for the Walk to Benefit the Joan Knechel Cancer Center. Over the past five years the team has raised over $8,700 for the Joan Knechel Memorial Walk.  They are hoping to break $10,000 this year. This year’s walk will take place on Sunday, Oct. 16 at River Park in Hackettstown.
