Sara Perramant, Gibson’s, Good Impressions among Coalition for Healthy and Safe Communities Honorees

Kevin Hopkins and Mike Politano of Gibson’s Gym, Marian Bredin, owner of Good Impressions and publisher of The Messenger (pictured), and Sarah Perramant from the Warren County Health Department will be honored at the 4th Annual Coalition For Healthy and Safe Communities Recognition Luncheon.  Several other individuals and groups will also be recognized at the awards reception.

The  event is scheduled for Wednesday Jan. 17th and will be held at the Inn at Millrace Pond in Hope. The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. and will conclude by 1:30 p.m.

The Coalition for Healthy and Safe Communities, a program of the Family Guidance Center of Warren County, is dedicated to raising awareness about the effects of alcohol and drug abuse, particularly with youth.  Those being honored this year are being recognized for their efforts with these issues. The honorees span the gamut from education and health, to religion, law enforcement, and the media.

The featured Guest Speaker will be James Crouse of Phillipsburg, a Recovery Advocate and a recovery survivor himself. Crouse, currently a student at Centenary University, is also a graduate of Warren County Community College where he is the Alumni Rep on the College’s Board of Trustees. DEA Special Agent Timothy McMahon of the NJ DEA’s office, will be a special guest to speak about his work with the state wide program, Hidden In Plain Sight.

Other honorees this year include Tom Cicerelle, Chief of the Washington Township Police Department (which oversees law enforcement in the Township, Borough and Oxford), Pastor Peter Keady, leader of the Phillipsburg Alliance youth group, Pastor Wen Ling Lai, chairperson of One Voice for Warren County, and Athletic Directors Thomas Fisher, Phillipsburg High School, and Chris Karabinus, Belvidere High School.

Tickets for the luncheon are $45 each, with proceeds supporting the overall work of the Coalition, its programs and services.

The presenting sponsor is Covanta Warren Energy Resource Co., LLC, a company that was also an honoree at the first annual event. The Inn at Millrace Pond is a Patron Sponsor.
