Aaron Elected Mount Olive Area Chamber President

Chuck Aaron, longtime resident of Mount Olive and owner of Jersey Girl Brewing, has been elected President of the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce, with members throughout Morris, Warren and Sussex counties.

Aaron (fifth from right in photo) officially assumes the role in January, replacing Harry Browne. Browne will remain on the board of directors as a trustee.

Patrice Schaffer was selected as the board’s new Vice President. Claudia Ehrgott (Secretary), Brian Ko (Treasurer) and Patti Singer (Corresponding Secretary) round out the Executive Board. Trustees for 2020 are Browne, Matt Czigler, Bill Lockwood, Larry McEntee, Craig Hanlon and Glenn Ehrgott.

Aaron wants to build upon the Chamber’s success in the past few years in myriad ways, generally centering around increased “member engagement.”

“The Chamber is doing a lot of things so well,” said Aaron. “A great deal of effort is being put into it and many people deserve the credit.”

Aaron’s main goal is to “celebrate” the current members more, and do some unique programming to attract new members.

“I am excited to try and do some different things this year,” said Aaron. “We want to make sure our members are rewarded for being a member and see value in their membership. I really want to focus on members.”

In the past several years the Chamber has had numerous monthly meetings; Aaron is looking to “streamline” the process moving forward by offering a more concise schedule of events.

“We can provide quality programming without overwhelming our members,” said Aaron. “Let’s see what kinds of events and educational subjects our members are interested in and zero in on those topics.”

The Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce is recognized as the fastest growing small chamber in the state. More than 170 businesses are members of the organization. Aaron is confident that this year’s Board will continue that success.

“This is a dynamic group of people,” said Aaron. “They each offer something different to the board, but they all have the same goal. They want to get involved. They want to make a difference.”

The Chamber offers an array of business related events throughout the year, including its signature Marketing in the Morning. The Chamber also offers a scholarship program and gets involved in many other business and community efforts including an annual food drive. To learn more about the Chamber and how it can benefit businesses, visit www.mountolivechambernj.com.
