Abdelmeguid, Moberg Among Those Cited By WCC

Emaan Mahmoud Abdelmeguid, Amanda Moberg, Dina Shenouda and Meagan Vidal Taylor were among many recognized by Warren Community College at its Graduate Achievement Awards ceremony held at the College on May 21.

Abdelmeguid was presented with the Trustee Award, as well as the Science Award; Moberg received the President’s Academic Award; Shenouda was the recipient of the Foundation Award; and Taylor was honored with the Phi Theta Kappa Award.

Abdelmeguid earned particular distinction for several reasons. As a high school student she earned half of her degree before stepping onto the Warren campus, was a NJ Star and EOF recipient and member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. She graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA and will be attending William Paterson University this fall.

Dr. Will Austin, President of WCC, praised Moberg as someone who “is smarter than me and works harder than me. She amazes me every day.”

Of the honorees as a group, Dr. Austin emphasized that “you all have excelled and persevered through a challenging time. No doubt you will be successful in whatever you do in the future.”

WCC Board of Trustees Chair Yvonne Reitemeyer added, “You have shown that you can adapt when necessary and that you can thrive despite adversity. For me, having an opportunity to shine a spotlight on your achievements is one of my highlights of the year.”
