Oxford Central School has been busy these past few weeks:

Congratulations to the 5th grade Battle of the Minds team, which won the county championships in this Jeopardy-style trivia game. The students on the team were Matthew McAvinn, Abby Phillips, Maebh McCluskey, and Julie Isabelle. The coaches were Elena Kantz and Katie Miller.

Getting into the giving spirit, students collected loose change and donated $500 to support the Thanksgiving Community Feast and the Interfaith Hospitality Network.

OCS is also acting as a local drop off and collection site for the annual holiday Toys for Tots drive. Donations of new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at the school.

And, last but not least, the Harlem Wizards visited the school! A special assembly was held to promote their game against teachers at Warren Hills Regional High School on Dec. 7th. The money will benefit Warren Hills’ Project Graduation, which gives graduates a safe, alcohol-free night post-graduation.
